Monthly Wrap: December

I can't believe 2009 went by so fast! Completely crazy!

December ended up being a great month for me.

I held a few contests here and gave away 5 finished copies of Fallen by Lauren Kate, was honored to be a stop in Lisa Schroeder's ARC tour for Chasing Brooklyn and pass the wonderful book on to another blogger, and also gave away a copy of LM Preston's Explorer X-Alpha. I also am still hosting a contest to give away my ARCs of Fallen by Lauren Kate and Captivate by Carrie Jones, both ending Jan 24.

I also won a few awards- some of which I am pretty sure I never made a post about and I apologize for that- thank you to the people who gave them to me. I really do appreciate it, very much.

I started a new feature to spotlight a new small blogger each week, as well as decided to start a feature that will spotlight/promote books that I recommend- generally ones that don't get talked about as much but are still great books that I am entitling Barkings From A Beagle which technically went live Jan 1 but the idea was in December so shhhh.

Of course the books I added to my To Be Read shelf outweighed what I actually finished reading, but I did better this month than last. Here's my December list- the links will take you to my reviews.

The Dark Divine: Bree Despain (5 stars -- ARC received courtesy of Egmont)
How It Ends: Laura Wiess (5 stars)
Explorer-X: Alpha: LM Preston (2 starts -- ARC received courtesy of author)
Chasing Brooklyn: Lisa Schroeder (5 stars -- ARC received courtesy of Lisa's ARC tour)
Hearts at Stake: Alyxandra Harvey (4 stars -- ARC received courtesy of Bloomsbury)
Captivate: Carrie Jones (5 stars- ARC received courtesy of Bloomsbury)
Wish You Were Dead: Todd Strasser (4 stars)
Castration Celebration: Jake Wizner (4 stars)
Such A Pretty Girl: Laura Wiess (5 stars)
Gifted- Here Today, Gone Tomorrow: Marilyn Kaye (4 stars)
Academy 7: Anne Osterlund (5 stars)

This months total was 11, which was 4 more than last month. Hooray! I received several books from publishers which was fantastic, as well as comments from authors which is basically the best feeling in the world.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year and good luck in 2010!
