Guest Post and Contest: Holly Cupala

Continuing her fantastic Tell Me a Secret tour, Holly Cupala is dropping by my blog, giving us a little more about Rand.

Hello to Kari, and huge thanks to The {Teen} Book Scene for putting together this amazing Tell Me a Secret blog tour! I hope all of you have been enjoying the character interviews, book faves, and the serialized audiobook feature, free at www.tellmeasecretnovel.com!

Kari has invited Miranda, the main character from Tell Me a Secret, to share her favorite books. So without further ado, I’ll turn the blog over to Miranda:

Thanks, Kari, for asking about my favorite books! Here are just a few, everything from art to YA to lit. I hope you enjoy!

Weetzie Bat by Francesca Lia Block. Nobody knows this because it ended up being cut out of my story, but Weetzie Bat was Xanda’s favorite book—so it’s special to me, too, even the dent in the wall where she threw it at me one time.

The Truth about Forever by Sarah Dessen. Who doesn’t love Sarah Dessen? Wes, the artist, is probably my favorite boy in YA.

Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Dr. Betty Edwards. This is a really great book if you want to learn to draw and don’t feel like you know where to start.

Labyrinths by Jorge Luis Borges. Amazing book of short stories, and of course there are labyrinths. My favorite story is “The Library of Babel,” about an infinite number of libraries with an infinite number of books with letters put together in an infinite number of ways, with a bunch of librarians wandering around trying to figure out what it all means.

The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd. Because Lexi loves it. I love it, too.

Thank you, Kari, for inviting me to your blog. Happy reading!

Thank you, Randa, for sharing that awesome array of titles! Now for those of you who have yet to meet Randa, now's your chance!

I'm giving away one signed copy of Tell Me a Secret. To enter, fill out THIS FORM and tell me what one of your all time favorite books is.

US only. Contest ends December 15.
