Tributing Thursdays

Author Heidi R. Kling had the great idea to devote a week to authors, letting the fans publicly recognize and appreciate them. I thought this was a great idea but sat here wondering, why do they only get a week? No matter the end result, all authors work hard whether they are just starting out or holding years of experience. To keep this notion alive, I'm going to be making a weekly appreciation post. You're welcome to do to the same- I encourage it! Stop by here and comment with your link!

This week, and in light of recent real life events, I am spotlighting Carrie Ryan for her push against bullying. Bullying is callous and cruel and certainly something that needs to end and Carrie is doing more than saying it needs to stop. If you haven't yet, check out the Facebook group to unite both YA authors and readers in this cause.

Carrie is the author of The Forest of Hands and Teeth and the recently released companion novel The Dead Tossed Waves. She finds time for her fans in the midst of writing her books, her family, and tours, and also goes beyond that for causes like the one mentioned above. She is a fantastic writer and an amazing person.
